Almost never. Hotels and resorts pay a commission to agents, so the price is typically the same as booking it yourself.
Often it's better, thanks to perks and upgrades that come from relationships built with hotels and tour operators — the kind of extras you simply can't access on a public booking site. You get the same trip, sometimes a nicer version of it, and someone in your corner the whole way through.
